The Finnish Statistical Society is a non-profit scientific society founded in 1920. The purpose of the Statistical Society is to promote the research, teaching and application of statistics and to act as a link between statisticians and people who do statistics.
The Statistical Society has approximately 300 members who work in universities, research institutes, state and municipal organizations, associations and companies mainly in research, planning, teaching and expert positions. The membership also includes statistics students.
The next Statistical Days will be held on Monday 3 June 2024 at Aalto University in Espoo. The keynote speaker is Professor Ryan Martin (Department of Statistics, North Carolina State University).
Registration for Statistical Days closes on May 12, 2024. If you want to give a presentation at Statistical Days, send a proposal for the presentation to the secretary of the Statistical Society no later than April 30, 2024. Register for Statistical Days by filling out the registration form and paying the participation fee only after you have received information about acceptance or rejection. The Finnish Statistical Society's 2nd edition of the Glossary of Statistics is now also a search engine. You can get the 1st edition of the glossary as your own from Tiedekirja. The glossary is a Finnish-English-Finnish dictionary whose goal is to unify and renew the Finnish terminology of statistics.
